Abstract:

Based on an analysis for the current status of water-saving irrigation development (WSID) in Panzhihua, Sichuan, China, some of the existing problems in the construction of water-saving irrigation are pointed out. These are: insufficient engineering of water resources, low irrigated water use efficiency and imperfect management system and mechanism of water-saving irrigation. Centring on the economic transition and planting structure adjustment in Panzhihua, general ideas, integrated technical measures, the main districts and ensured measures of WSID in Panzhihua are presented and discussed.
