Results are presented of a study, conducted during 1976-2000 in Romania, on the changes in the soil-water-plant system under sunflower crop cultivation in terms of: water reserve below both minimum available water content and wilting point; water consumption; irrigation influence on microclimate, yield and water efficiency; and the correlation between different parameters.
