This paper focuses on the Water Users Association and on the performance of the physical irrigation system and the management system due to participatory approach in Kedar Tank located in the Kedar Village, Villupuram District, Tamil Nadu, India. Water use efficiency, conveyance efficiency and travel time in channels are the parameters used in the performance evaluation of the physical structures of the tank system. Also analysed are farmers' interest and their involvement regarding water acquisition, water distribution, conflict resolution, resource mobilization and maintenance.
