Drought brings upswing in business for irrigation supply companies

Vic Fiscus knows business has been up this year — he just hasn’t had time yet to tally the exact figures. That’s because the general manager of Valley Irrigation of Greeley, like his employees, has been working 12 hours per day or more, six days per week — spending all summer helping farmers and ranchers stretch their limited water supplies as far as they can go. While the drought this year has so far minimized the trickle-down effect in the local agriculture economy, local irrigation supply companies have seen an upswing.
