Farmers get big share of Fry-Ark water

The growing snowpack in Colorado’s mountains couldn’t have come at a better time for Arkansas Valley farmers. The Southeastern Colorado Water Conservancy District allocated nearly 60,000 acre-feet of water to agriculture at its meeting Thursday. The water will supplement flows on 150,000 acres of farmland and could save crops later in the season. Much of the Lower Arkansas Valley remains in a drought that began 9 months ago…
