Fred Anderson, 83, former state senator, helped change Colorado water laws

Renowned water-issue activist, state senator and Loveland native Fred Anderson died of a heart attack at McKee Medical Center on Thursday. He was 83. Anderson had just finished shoveling a path in the snow from the house to the curb when he began to feel ill, and he suffered a heart attack as paramedics were on their way to his Loveland home.
