The irrigation season for 11,000 farmers and irrigators in the middle Rio Grande valley will effectively end July 1 when the agency that supplies water to farmers runs out of its stored water. The Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District will run out of its stored water in El Vado Reservoir 160 miles northwest of Albuquerque on Monday, said MRGCD CEO and Chief Engineer Subhas Shah.
