Poor snowpack bodes ill for SLV irrigators

ALAMOSA — Spring runoff has started at a fairly normal pace in the San Luis Valley, but irrigators likely will face shortages by the end of the season. “It’s not an extremely dry year that we’re facing, but it’s definitely below average,” Division 3 Engineer Craig Cotten said Friday.
