River Murray communities in South Australia have been given a boost, with the Federal Government providing $265 million to help fund more water efficiencies to cope with the Murray-Darling Basin plan. The extra funding is on top of the $1.7 billion committed by the Government to deliver the 3,200 gigalitres of environmental flow the SA Government had demanded. Premier Jay Weatherill said it was a welcome boost for irrigators.
