Water district shuts off water to citrus farm

An increasingly bitter dispute over the safety of recycled water on citrus groves has ended in the Western Municipal Water District shutting off water to a 50-acre citrus farm near Riverside.
Citrus farmer Andy Wilson said their water was shut off Wednesday because they refused to accept treated sewage water out of concern that chemicals such as boron, chloride and sodium could damage their trees and make their fruit unmarketable, the Riverside Press-Enterprise reported…
