Wet weather: Farmers take the bad with the good

Montrose has more than made up for a hot, dry June, with an exceptionally moist July: the area is at 1.13 inches above normal precipitation for the month, mostly thanks to a bounteous bucketing July 28-29, according to the National Weather Service. While the rain is badly needed, it hasn’t exactly been a blessing for farmers knee deep in the corn harvest who now find themselves knee deep in mud.
